Just to get to know you

I am gonna start posting a question every day to learn more about you ladies!!

Question 1:
Where did you grow up?



Answer for me:
I was born in PA, but my parents were teachers in Alaska, so from 3 weeks old until I was 12 years old, we lived our school years out in Alaska and our summers were spent driving to and from PA with a visit with our grandparents for 2 months. When I was 12, we moved back to PA and that is where I graduated highschool from.

Great topic Lisa, I moved around alot as a kid! No, my father was not in the military he just liked to change jobs! I was born in Hartford, Conn. At about age 8 We moved to Edmunston, New Brunswick in Canada, we lived there until I started high school when we moved to Woodland Maine and my senior year in High school we moved to Northern NY where I met my hubby and am still living! It was an interesting childhood not always easy making friends and then moving! I spent most of my summers as a child with my grandparents on Cape Cod!

I have been to Edmunston!! I am assuming that is it is the same place at least!! lol Before the Mall of America was built, they had the worlds largest mall there, right?

It was one of the places we stopped every year as we drove to PA. We would go swimming. Loads of fun in that place and in my opinion it is a much nice mall than the one in Minneapolis. lol

Don't know if they have big mall haven't been there in years. This is in Canada, the Edmunston I'm talking about. You gotta remember that was a long time ago, I'm an old Fart LOL!

Nice topic Lisa, also a wonderful idea to know everybody.... to answer... all my life i live in chennai, India all my schooling and college... even worked as a professional medical transcriptionist for 4 years unitil i got married... then i came here to sacramento and have been here since then.

I was born, raised, and still live in Illinois. Although we lived in three different towns they are all right here together for those looking I live in Canton IL. I have actually only left the state of Illinois Twice that I remember when I was 5 we went to long Island in New York where i have family and when I was 15 I went to the statue of Liberty.

We always visited there in the 80's. lol I guess I would have to look at the map to see if we are talking about the same place!!

I was born and raised Las Vegas, NV until we moved to Texas when I was a senior in high school. I still live here now in the middle of farm country. What a different childhood my kids have from me! I do love it here, but I could go for a little more green and trees!

Nice Topic.... I moved around quite a lot...I am basically a south Indian but I was born in Calcutta, India...Lived there till I was 2, then my dad got transfered to a city called katihar, which is Indo-Nepal border, couple of years there then travelled to a city called Patna... All the above are in Eastern India....

from there to Pune which is western India, lived there for six years and then my dad went back to calcutta permanantly. I got married in 2002 and came to sacramento and have been here ever since. We have really travelled all around India.

My father in law is a military contractor and it seems to me he has spent some time in katihar. I don't remember when, exactly. He does satallite stuff.

I was born in a small town outside of Dallas, Texas, I spent a couple of years in TN then back to TX. Have been here ever since and wouldn't trade it for anything! Love it here! Even with the always (OK almost always) hot weather! 39 days in a row over 90! 15 or more of those are over 100! Gotta love it! Good excuses to go swimming at least!

Yikes Danielle!! HOT!! I was dying last week when our temps were that high!!

Oh we LOVE IT!!! i mean it stinks (not literally) when we have to stay in sometimes b/c of the heat but we playin the evenings when the sun is going down and also in the mornings spend afternoons indoors, not so bad! I guess we are SO used to it! I couldn't do cold! I love my flip flops and tanks!

I was in Dallas on the Sat before Easter in 1996. At the time I was stationed in Wichita Falls (sheppard AFB) for technical school and we went to 6 Flags that day for a Carmen Concert. The weather was gorgeous, but. If it was like that all the time I would happily live in TX. But I got to see the extreme of REALLY hot just after Easter, and the cold and actual snow the first week of Feb that year. lol

Texas really does have extreme heat! We have been over 100 for most of the last couple of weeks and just 3/10th of an inch of rain. My garden is so thirsty!! And btw:it really does stink around here if the wind is blowing the right direction!(feedlots) My husband tells the kids,"It doesn't stink. That's the smell of money!" Oh my....

Heat.... Check out CA...Man it is smoky.....

Depends on where in Cali you are. I live on the Central coast and it is almost chilly today.

Well, Beena and myself live in Sacramento.... and their was grass fires around Fairfield.... for the past 2-3 days... the whole atmosphere was smoky ... and the air quality was sooo poor.... they didnt allow the kids at my son's parent-toddler program to go out and play.... and also the climate was ok yesterday.... but today oh man!!! its hot!!

Fun! Great getting to know everyone! I grew up in Philadelphia, PA. I moved to Galveston, TX for college. In 2000 I moved to Florida and have been in Tampa for about 7ish years now.

My sister lives in Jacksonville-I have no idea how far that is from Tampa:)
