I am hoping that the guy was wrong, but as far as I know, my hubby didn't earn his next stripe. The test results were released today and only a certain % of the people testing make it each test cycle. I know my hubby is going to be when he gets home because he studied his butt off for that test.

He got home and confirmed it is a big NO. His test scores were average and so combined with the other things involved in making rank, he didn't score high enough.
There are more things involved in making rank than just test scores, unfortunately. It also involves time in the military, time in your current rank, performance evaluation scores, fitness test scores, awards. UGH. too much!! Next year he will get more points for being in the rank he has. That will help some.

Lisa, I understand perfectly! Just went through with my son-in-law! He's out now but I know how it goes! My brothers and father were in Air Force right out of high school and the Air Force is no different! Sorry! Sarah
